Sailing region from Samos to Kos is one of the best in the Aegean as offers lower wind and waves in comparison with the other regions of the Aegean Sea. During summer some days weather conditions can become rather hard, but because of the covered from land area of Samos and North Dodecanesse it will be for you alot easier to sail than other areas of the Aegean Sea.
