Information about Arki Island

Arki is a small island east of Patmos, on the north edge of the Dodecanese. Its main attraction is its crystal-clear waters with striking colours that range from deep blue to emerald green and the beautiful simplicity of its landscape. It is a place to relax and enjoy the nature at its best. Dolphins in the open sea off the island's coasts can often be seen jumping out of the water to welcome the approaching ferries. Swimming in the island's well-protected bays and coves is a unique experience. The island is surrounded by many islets, each one with its own, distinct personality.

Yachtsmen Information

Arki:
Port Augusta (37? 22' 59N, 26? 43' 88E) is the harbour of this little island and it provides very good all around shelter for yachts. Some tavernas right on the waterfront. The island have very nice bays on the south (Tiganakia) and one just out of the entrance of the harbour providing shelter and crystal clear waters.

Marathos is the islet is right opposite port Augusta. We recommend that you should not enter the anchorage between Marathos and the small islet Spalato as there is a dangerous reef less than 2m of depth at some point. There are two tavernas which have laid moorings. We recommend the left one. Michalis the Pirate. Try his wild goat and his fish. They are always fresh!
